What I do for Individuals

Individuals often face the same complex litigation issues as companies. I have represented individuals and groups of individuals in their legal problems against a former, present or future employer. In this regard I have handled all forms of discrimination claims such as: Age, Gender, Race, Sexual Preference, National Origin, Religion, Disability, and sexual as well as racial harassment and hostile work environment. I have assisted many individuals and classes of individuals with their retaliation claims including whistle-blower, retaliatory discharge and wrongful discharge claims. I bring claims for unequal wages and unpaid wages, including bonus or commissions, claims to recoup unpaid overtime wages and other failures to comply with Federal and State Wage and worker protection statutes. I consult with employees and negotiate on their behalf regarding proposed severance agreements and consult and negotiate for employees regarding the legal interpretation and enforcement of non-compete provisions as well.

In assisting individuals and groups of individuals I have participated in all forms of litigation and court proceedings that occur in the State, Federal, and Administrative arena. I have directly participated in all stages of litigation including but not limited to; drafting and responding to Pleadings, drafting and arguing pre-trial motions, drafting written discovery and conducting oral depositions both for discovery and evidentiary purposes, conducting hearings and trials by and through presenting witness testimony on direct and cross examination, giving opening and closing statements at hearings or trials, representing clients in mediation and other settlement proceedings, representing clients achieve results before chancery or “special remedy” courts in obtaining temporary restraining orders and preliminary injunctions. Through my litigation services I have developed expertise in the pre-and post litigation stages such as, advocacy during mediations, arbitrations and internal investigations, appellate practice and representation at formal and informal settlement conferences.

I am conversant in written and spoken Spanish and I have performed many of the enumerated duties below in English and Spanish. I frequently assist clients who’s primary language is Spanish.
